TAPS Board of Directors helps to support staff and management through the facilitation of office policies and initiatives, budgeting, and other various forms of guidance. Directors are expected to work to become and remain knowledgeable about TAPS’s structure, programs, budgets and strategic directions.

TAPS is a registered Society under the British Columbia Societies Act, as well as a registered charity with the Canadian Federal Government. TAPS members can vote at our AGM and receive updates on our work throughout the year.
At TAPS, we believe that the causes of poverty are in the social, economic and political institutions of our society – not the failings of the individual. Through legal advocacy and public education, we have a positive impact on people’s lives in ways that honour and promote human rights, justice, and a healthy, sustainable community.
TAPS also provides public legal education on topics related to our work for interested community groups and organizations, empowering and enabling them to better advocate for themselves. The easiest way to donate to TAPS is to make an online donation. Physical donations can be mailed or dropped off at 828 View Street, Victoria BC V8W 1K2. Please make sure to provide your full name and mailing address if you would like us to prepare you a receipt.
Together Against Poverty Society is a non-profit organization registered under the BC Societies Act, as well as a registered charity. Our board of directors oversees the TAPS Executive Director and Director of Operations, who are responsible for staff. TAPS is also a proud member of CUPE Local 374.
