Susanne Bier (Danish: [suˈsænə ˈpiɐ̯ˀ]; born 15 April 1960) is a Danish filmmaker. Bier is the first female director to receive an Academy Award (Foreign Film), a Golden Globe Award and a European Film Award - for In a Better World-, and a Primetime Emmy Award [2] for directing The Night Manager, collectively.
