Shane Carruth is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, composer, and actor. He is known for his science-fiction films Primer and Upstream Color, and has been involved in several unrealized or upcoming projects.
Shane Carruth is a former software engineer who made his debut with the low-budget sci-fi film Primer (2004), which he wrote, directed, composed and starred in. He also made Upstream Color (2013) and The Dead Center (2018), and is working on The Modern Ocean.
