Shuai vs Judo is something I can't do much of a technical breakdown on; Sanda vs Muay Thai is more up my wheelhouse. Sanda is much faster paced due to rounds lasting only two minutes. It's also more point-based rather than knockout-based, so to speak (not that KO victories don't happen in Sanda or point victories don't happen for MT).
Sep 12, 2022 · Sanda has more emphasis on leg catches but the biggest difference is the incorporation of Shuai Jiao. It has Wrestling. Muay Thai's predecessors had more wrestling than present Muay Thai. Sanda does have elbows here and there but their mentality is "Too close to kick, punch them.
Sep 11, 2021 · Whether Sanda should be considered a style of Kung-fu or an expression of it is a different (and much more semantic) matter, but Sanda was created by Kung-fu pratictioners, for the explicit purpose of improving pressure testing standards in Kung-fu gyms, and is trained almost exclusively at said Kung-fu gyms.

Aug 29, 2021 · Sanda is awesome and also the most fun real sparring art to watch, more than normal boxing, MMA, MT, Kyokushin imo - maybe tied with combat karate. The best fighter I ever met IRL, with the best conditioning and all, went to the same high school as me, also happens to have trained Sanda since we were high schoolers.
