Jan 26, 2013 · S4C needs state support as the number of viewers is too low to generate sufficient advertising revenue. (BBC Wales are now going to take over the running of S4C). As only about 18% of the population of Wales are able to speak Welsh, it surely makes sense to provide an English language soundtrack for sporting events that are not shown on the main English language channels.

Nov 3, 2003 · S4C Shows DIFFERENT programs to C4. S4C2 is a channel dedicated to showing coverage on the welsh parliament (simmilar too BBC Parliament.) You will not be able to get S4C In london, even with a huge 2 meter aerial and strong booster. You would have to be close to the border to get S4C and S4C2.
Jan 21, 2005 · S4C currently broadcast welsh language programming on analogue during primetime (6-10pm) as well as a short children's slot during the afternoon. The rest of the day, S4C show "the best" of Channel 4's output in English. Most of the time C4 programmes are simulcasted or timeshifted to later in the day or delayed by a few days.
Unfortunately, S4C Clirlun having miniscule viewing figures didn't help matters either and the important thing for the time being is that S4C itself survives the harsh Tory cuts. As for RoryJMcEwan's original problem, I'd suggest doing full channel rescans at different times of the day (preferably in good weather) to try to pick up S4C again.
