Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (28 May 1923 – 18 January 1996), [1] often referred to by his initials NTR, was an Indian actor, film director, film producer, screenwriter, film editor, philanthropist and politician who served as a former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over four terms.

Ramarao on Duty is a 2022 Indian Telugu -language mystery action drama film written and directed by Sarath Mandava. [2] Produced by SLV Cinemas and RT Team Works, it stars Ravi Teja in title role alongside Divyansha Kaushik, Rajisha Vijayan (in her Telugu debut), Chaitanya Krishna and Venu Thottempudi.
In 1984, when he was recovering from his surgery, Governor Ram Lal dismissed his Ministry and Nadendla Bhaskara Rao was made the Chief Minister. In 1985, his first wife ‘Basava Tarakam’ died of cancer. Soon after her death, he founded the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital in Hyderabad.
