As Krsna is the supreme among all incarnations, Purusottama is the supreme among all months. It is the holiest month, far superior to the pious months of Magha, Vaisakh and Karttika.
The fifteenth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita is "Purushottama Yoga". In Sanskrit, Purusha means the "All-pervading God", and Purushottam means the timeless & transcendental aspect of God.
