  3. In 1921, the School is renamed the School of Speech, and in 2001, renamed again the School of Communication to better reflect the broad array of subjects studied here. Today, the School has more than 1,200 undergraduates, 700 graduate students, and 170 faculty members, and six majors in five departments.

  4. The School of Communication offers a variety of program options, which can be combined to pursue your academic interests and career goals. In addition to the majors, minors and certificates, our modules are additional programs of study that include coursework, pre-professional experiences and a capstone project.

  5. Graduate Programs. Our graduate and professional programs offer advanced degree options, including masters, PhD and clinical doctorates. Some are interdepartmental or interdisciplinary. Use this list to view all options by degree type or academic department.

  6. Students in the School of Communication pursue either a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BACMN) or a Bachelor of Science in Communication (BSCMN) with a major in Communication Studies, Dance, Human Communication Sciences, Performance Studies, Radio/Television/Film, or Theatre.
