Navketan Films is a film production house based in Mumbai, India. Started in 1949 by actor-director and producer Dev Anand and his elder brother Chetan Anand, whose debut film, Neecha Nagar, received the Palme d'Or (Best Film) award, at the first ever Cannes Film Festival in 1946.
Navketan, founded in 1949 by the Anand brothers Chetan and Dev – the former an established director, the latter on his way to becoming one of Indian cinema's best-loved leading men. Navketan's debut film, Afsar, was directed by Chetan Anand. It was far from beinga box-office hit.
Navketan Films was founded in 1949 by Indian actor, director, and producer Dev Anand, and his brother Chetan Anand. Chetan and his younger brother Vijay (who also directed numerous films for the company) parted ways with the company later, and as of today, Dev's son Suneil Anand is currently heading the production house.
