Sir Syed Muhammad Saadulla KCIE (Assamese: ছাৰ ছৈয়দ মহম্মদ ছাদুল্লাহ; 21 May 1885 – 8 January 1955) was the 1st Prime Minister of Assam in British India from 1937 to 1946. [1] . He was also the member of Constituent Assembly of India from 1946 to 1950. [2]
Muhammad Saadulla was a lawyer and leader of the Muslim League in Assam. He received a Knighthood from the British Government in 1928. In 1936, he formed a coalition with other non-Congress parties to become the first Chief Minister of Assam in British India; however, he had to resign in 1938 after he lost a no-confidence motion.
