Oct 7, 2024 · A big part of these efforts is the development of an in-house game engine. According to Inaba, Monolith Soft's currently in-development engine is based on the engine they originally created in 2010 for Xenoblade Chronicles. They are currently working on expanding it for use in other titles.
Dec 20, 2017 · Monolith Soft itself has always had technology in its RPG's. From the harder Sci-fi of Gears, Saga and XBX to the more Science Fantasy of Baten Kaitos and the numbered Xenoblade games. I can see him doing this big of a departure.
Dec 30, 2022 · It's weird that Nintendo supposedly shot down non-Xenoblade pitches from Monolith Soft. I mean, Xenoblade is great, but surely they see Monolith's talent and think an ambitious open-world game with a little more mainstream appeal (high-fantasy for example) would do many times more sales.
May 20, 2020 · Monolith Soft only started hiring for Zelda in March 2019, so several months after PG1 started work on the Xenoblade remaster and their new game. The advertisements for the new IP were August 2017, to put things in context. We've all assumed, myself included, PG2 are on Zelda co-development duty.
