Lou Rawls was an American singer whose smooth baritone adapted easily to jazz, soul, gospel, and rhythm and blues. As a child, Rawls sang in a Baptist church choir, and he later performed with Sam Cooke in the 1950s gospel group Teenage Kings of Harmony.
