Lloyd Stuart Swanton (born 14 August 1960) is an Australian jazz double bassist, bass guitarist, and composer. [1] Swanton was a member of Dynamic Hepnotics in 1986 [2] and co-founded jazz trio The Necks in 1987 with Chris Abrahams and Tony Buck. [3]

He had a stimulating career as a freelance bassist, and was one third of The Necks, who were already making waves, if yet to achieve their international acclaim. Then he decided there was another box to tick: the one marked “solo project”. It was to be just two gigs and a single album.
