Kent Jones (born 1957) [1] is an American film critic and filmmaker . Biography. Kent Jones grew up in Berkshire County, Massachusetts before attending McGill University in the late 1970s. He then transferred to New York University where he studied filmmaking.
Kent Jones is a filmmaker and writer. His documentaries include A Letter to Elia (2010), codirected with Martin Scorsese, and Hitchcock/Truffaut (2015), and he made his fiction debut with the critically acclaimed Diane (2018). He is also the author of several books of criticism.
Jones is a singular film critic, curator and festival programmer. His 2007 book, " Physical Evidence ," demonstrated exemplary range and an authoritative personality. The book culled his pieces from Film Comment, Cahiers du cinema, Village Voice and The New York Times.
