May 4, 2022 · If Julie Kavner is hands-off, that explains a lot on to why the writers devolved Marge's character. A lot of times, the actors are the ones who help develop the character. Compare it to Family Guy where while Lois and Meg got exaggerated, they still have plenty of spotlight episodes that can flesh them out. by Anonymous.
Mar 14, 2024 · Julie Kavner still sounds like Marge - just much, much older. Marge is still supposed to be in her thirties, and Julie is in her seventies. That's the problem with a cartoon running for so long - the characters are ageless, but the actors aren't. Some of Harry Shearer's characters, particularly Mr Burns, have sounded off for years.

Jun 30, 2021 · R112, I always thought Julie Kavner was pretty in an understated, non-cheerleader way. This anniversary took place during production of S4 of Rhoda, after she lost weight, got a more flattering haircut, and was no longer written as Rhoda's frumpy, perpetually single kid sister (she had two love interests that year!).
