John Sykes started his career in 1980 with the “New Wave of British Heavy Metal” band, The Tygers of Pan Tang. After two years of albums and tours with the Tygers, John auditioned for a place in classic rock band Thin Lizzy, where he successfully got the part as their new lead guitar player alongside Scott Gorham.

Jan 25, 2019 · Dear John Sykes fans. We regret to announce that our partnership with Golden Robot Records has ceased. Unfortunately after the signing, contractual agreements were unfulfilled by Golden Robot Records and there was little attempt to move things forward despite our best efforts and patience.
John uses Marshall amps and Mesa Boogie amps. For the last ten + years of Thin Lizzy tours or Sykes tours, John has been plugging his Les Paul straight into one 50 watt JCM 800 Marshall head running in to one Marshall 4x12 (or one of his custom-made made 4x12's).

Nov 22, 2019 · EVH Amps / Cabs. 22/11/19 15:24. To all fellow guitar players out there, I’ve been using the EVH 5150lll amps and cabs for quite some time now and highly recommend this gear. I’ve been using a combination of the EVH 5150lll Stealth amps with the EVH 5150lll EL34 amps and 4x12 cabs.
