Jim was born in Ohio to James and Iantha Nieb. A natural performer he has worked steadily since 1991 as an actor, comedian, impersonator and variety performer. Over the years he's done just about everything from films to television to Shakespeare in the park to eating fire at renaissance festivals.
Jim has had several successes since moving to Los Angeles, such as working with Clint Eastwood, J.J. Abrams, Bill Engvall, shooting several national commercial spots to name just a few. Jim began training at the prestigious Playhouse West School and Repertory Theatre in North Hollywood in 2005.

Jim Nieb (born 16 March 1968; age 56) is an actor, comedian, celebrity impersonator, and variety performer who played the role of an alien Shipyard Bar patron in Star Trek. His character was dubbed "Sal" during the production by the make-up artists and production team to distinguish him from the other aliens. He is best known for his ability to impersonate US President George W. Bush as seen on the reality series The Next Best Thing.
Nieb was born in Canton, Ohio and raised in Northern Virginia. He has been performing and teaching improvisation since high school and was a long time member of the improvisational comedy troupe ComedySportz in Washington, DC. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California, and is a member of the sketch comedy group Big News Show which performs at Improv Olympic West in Hollywood. He also continues training as an actor at the Playhouse West Theatre and School in North Hollywood, in addition to performing sketch comedy and variety acts across the USA and around the world.
He made his film debut in the 2000 independent romantic comedy Divine Intervention and had an uncredited role in the Emmy Award-winning 2004 HBO movie Something the Lord Made, starring Gabrielle Union. In addition, he starred in the short films Jenkins' Last Meal and Ted's 12. He has also appeared on such television programs as The Bill Engvall Show and The Wire and can be seen in commercials for Toyota and The Home Depot. More recently, he filmed a role in Changeling (2008, featuring Scott Leva) and had a lead role in an independent comedy called The Ones.
Nieb has been impersonating former US President George W. Bush for several years. In 2007 his Bush act acquired him national recognition when he was named a semi-finalist on The Next Best Thing, a competition of celebrity impersonators which aired on ABC. Nieb has since appeared as Bush on the HBO series 12 Miles of Bad Road and the 2008 film Meet the Spartans (starring Diedrich Bader). He continues to perform as Bush in sketch comedy shows and at various conventions and other public events.
