Each year, IST awards a limited number of merit- and need-based scholarships to Tanzanian students who would like to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme (IBDP). Successful candidates are awarded a two-year, full-tuition scholarship covering IB I and II (Grades 11 and 12).

Following Tanganyika's independence, an enhanced international outlook and an influx of expatriate workers and their families in Dar es Salaam gave birth to the IST concept. As the foreign population grew, numerous parents began to consider the potential of establishing an international school.
Submit online application form. The application form will introduce your family to admissions. Once your application form has been submitted, application fee payment information will automatically be made available. IST has a rolling admission throughout the school year.
Elementary Campus. Open from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm, Monday to Friday. Located to the right at the top of the stairs near the old covered court.
The International School of Tanganyika (IST) is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of parents of current IST students. The Board of Governors is responsible for the overall health and long-term future of the school.
