Feb 14, 2009 · One name Ian Rush was at or near as damn it to the top of the Goal Scorers charts in the early through mid 80's and he even hit over 40 goals in 1984 I think as well as getting over 30 for 1982, 1983 and 1984 (30, 31 and 47 goals to be precise) while in a less prolific season (1985) he got 26 goals and in the Double season, he netted another 33 before finishing his first five goal packed seasons at Anfield by hitting the 40 goal mark for the second time in 3 years.
