Sooo I went to the Doja Cat Scarlet Tour in London last night and I wanted to make a little review. Show started with Hemlocke Springs as the opener, I didn't know much about her but she put on a pretty good show, very energetic and good vocals. Doja was on time, she came out at 21:00 and her performance was outstanding.
Sep 22, 2023 · I don't want to have to explain to people in my car wtf im listening to every time I put on a doja cat track. After Agora Hills the album got kinda dry/repetitive for me, there were a couple skips. I know she wanted this to be a solo album but it really could've benefited from some collabs like Riconasty and Doechii.
Doja's solo work is usually so much more melodic and varied than Nicki's was, so I'm really not surprised that Doja's songs catch on more than anyone else's. I think she's one of the most interesting current artists

I like the music so I’ve stuck around but the fanbase here is definitely delusional. Just like the Ariana stans making her newest album about her sooper mean ex and the media and not about her fucking a married man. Doja brought something exciting to pop, on this record she just sounds bitter and the songwriting feels like a major step down. She really hyped herself up like this is THE Doja Cat record, her finally making the music she wanted to make, if that’s the case good for her, but to me this is the most insecure record I’ve heard in a while.
To me it’s very clever wordplay- the whole valley girl vibe is the type of people from Agoura Hills which is where she lives but also the fact that she’s singing about making love in public “kiss and I hope they catch us, whether they like or not” “hold my hand, you can hit while they watch” “That’s true I like PDA” - agora as a term alludes to open/public spaces, an agoraphile is someone who gets off on affection in public and Agora Hills is a loose play on these terms

Sep 25, 2023 · ya she doesnt have the wit to spin the same subject that many times without it being boring. miss thee stallion can say the same thing over and over (and ill forever love her for it) but shes smart with how she says it, it never bores me. doja didnt do anything interesting with these bars anywhere on this album compared to her past works. hot pink is where i personally think she peaked. witty bars, fun storytelling, committed aesthetics…
