    Nov 22, 2012 · My experience is that it is taught to beginners who are not especially confident at identifying whether a relative pronoun is the subject or the object - it takes too much thinking to be able to put it into practice. Since there's no real harm in keeping the relative pronouns, I wonder how important it is to teach beginners about omitting them.
