  3. Mar 21, 2018 · Bates’ campus is beautiful. There is a bird sanctuary adjacent, and kids run and hike there. Of the three schools, it is generally acknowledged that Bates has the friendliest atmosphere. Traditionally, of the three, Bates has the more creative and arty vibe, but at least 40% of Bates kids are athletes and there are a lot of outdoor activities.

It took a great deal of stress off of me having chosen a college enabling me to focus on gaining skills that would later prove useful instead of obsessing over college applications.   7. Apr 25, 2013 · There’s one caveat…. Smith Hall is an all-freshman dorm which is generally regarded as the worst of the first-year living options. It’s arranged in quads (so you have three roommates), and is often seen as kind of a “party” dorm. I will say so that MOST people still love Smith and remember it with great affection.
