Mexican GP 1964 - the Graham Hill - Lorenzo Bandini incident - posted in TNFs Archive: Recently somebody told me that John Surtees only achieved his 1964 title because his Ferrari teammate Lorenzo Bandini on purpose pushed Surtees title rival Graham Hill out of the track.
Mar 2, 2001 · There is a great little book on Lorenzo Bandini in Italian, by Giacomo Sironi, published in 1997 by Omnia Edizioni. The author was a childhood friend and classmate of Bandini, so the book is an emotional farewell to a friend. There is also an eyewitness account of the accident and interviews of Forghieri and Borsari.

I have heard that a local farmer and Graham Hill came to his rescue but he was trapped in a ditch with the car filling with fuel. He aquiplained of the course and hit a pole. Hill went off roght behind him. Are these facts true and please give me more of an insight into the accident ...
Oct 10, 2002 · Bandini drove a NART Ferrari 2.6L V8, not a Cobra. Also Bandini wrecked after losing a wheel in the race. I think 6th place in the results should go to Weitzes' Cobra. First published in 1951, it was at first quarterly, later bi-monthly and then monthly. I have a collection up to 1955, and they are really good, including complete lap charts with times of such diverse events as the San Remo Grand Prix and the Le Mans 24 hours as well as the World Championship events.
