5 days ago · Yes, Shearer would be a terrible presenter. Too dour and not very personable. Mark Chapman for me or Gabby Logan. Logan very knowledgeable. Would have watched a lot of mens football due to her father Terry, ex Leeds player in the pre Premiership days. Both Chapman and Logan have presented other sports as well, so ideally suited to the role.

6 days ago · I doubt it - Alan Shearer is very BBC What else does Shearer regularly do for the BBC apart from MOTD and a bit of 5live? He has a sweet gig considering his salary, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he decides to retire from MOTD in the near future and maybe this could be a good time, to let some new blood take over.

Nov 9, 2024 · Rather than Martin Tyler, a better fooball commentator comparison for Simon Holt would be Clive Tyldesley, given that they commentate for the free-to-air masses (10 years ago you could say the 3 best lead sports commentators were - in no particular order - were Simon Holt, Clive Tyldesley and Eddie Butler.; all 3 have exitied the stage and in the case of Eddie Butler, he left us permanently, way, way too soon).
