To Yaśodharā, his wife, Buddha came to her and he was told by his father (the king) how Yaśodharā had suffered without him. The Buddha praised his former wife for her patience and sacrifice. Some time after Rāhula was ordained, Yaśodharā also became an ordained nun. Both Rāhula and Yaśodharā went on to achieve enlightenment.
