Aug 3, 2024 · Not at all 'picking on' you, but taking the opportunity to say generally to anyone out there applying for school places, Plese, please, please go to the school's own admissions policy (plus the relevant section of the local authority's website / information booklet), for the relevant year of entry, for information about said school's admissions policy...
Not sure if anyone else has posted about this, but Tiffin School has published the results of their consultation on a straight-line 14km distance criterion for entry from September 2015. It's under the Admissions tab on their website. They have decided to go ahead and implement the change.
Jun 24, 2012 · As far as Tiffin is concerned, if boys are doing only academic work this might be to do with their parents' priorities - it certainly hasn't come from the school. Tiffin Boys offers enormous extra-curricular opportunities and really actively encourages the boys to get involved, often through the House System.

Jul 14, 2019 · Tiffin School, measured as described in paragraph 10.3 and 10.4. 4.2 The waiting list will be maintained from 1 March 2020 until the last day of Tiffin School’s 2020 – 2021 academic year. During this period, if the admission number for Year 7 falls below 180, an offer will be made to the next boy on the waiting list.
Sep 23, 2012 · IMO they should consider each and every postcode within say 20 miles of Tiffin Girls School, break it down into postcode regions, e.g., KT1 0, and for each individual region, consider the journey to school at 7:15am from the closest point in that postcode. If it is more than 75. minutes for that closest point, exclude that entire postcode region.

Oct 25, 2015 · My experience as a parent is only of Tiffin but my son has met boys socially from both Wilson's and Sutton who all seem just as happy as he us. My best advice really is, paraphrasing what Moon unit has said, go for the school that is closest to you geographically to enable your son to make the most of what the school offers.

Mar 3, 2021 · I understand from Kingston local authority that you did not receive an offer on 1 March for a place at The Tiffin Girls’ School. However, I wanted to confirm that DD is on our waiting list and based on our experience of recent admissions rounds, we would expect your local authority to be able to make an offer in the coming months.
