Jun 26, 2014 · Avast had changed the coding in a file that was affecting the reloading of Firefox. There is a file called "sessionstore" its a Java Script (js) file. Along with "sessionstore.bak". Located: C:\Users\ (username)\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\. Subfolders for me were named gxmb0960.default & m7ryhpl1.default.
Nov 24, 2013 · Fred, First, that isn't happening here - Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit. Firefox 25.0.1 Avast 2014.9.0.2008 Free. If I understand what you have said correctly, as soon as you log into Win 7, Chrome opens at that URL.

May 27, 2008 · Check your HOSTS file you are looking for anything like 127.0.0.1 and avast.co on the same line. This is a common malware tactic to block anti-virus sites, so there might be other sites blocked in the same way.

Jul 25, 2019 · I'm an independent developer and every time I release software (as a .exe, downloadable from my site), my users using avast are faced with the CyberCapture system saying "This file might be dangerous", "It's been submitted for interrogation at the Avast Virus Lab", etc, and basically prevents my users from ever installing unless they remember to come back in 45+ minutes.
