Jul 14, 2019 · Select all the text, click Data > Text to Columns and select Space as separator. I use Convert PDF to Excel. PDF to XLS spreadsheets online and then run it through https://virustotal.com to make sure there is no mischief involved (none so far) This worked well for a pdf with tables.

IF PDF is only images: Master PDF Editor (unregistered) → ‘recognize document’, save, open in okular… etc. It works, not perfectly, but very close to good enough.

To open a PDF in LibreOffice Writer, you need to choose “PDF - Portable Document Format (Writer)” in the File Open dialog: [image description] Then you can save it in whatever format you wish (to odt, to doc, to docx). not sure the --convert-to option can cope with it, though.

In newer LO, if you can arrange it, files can be saved as PDF with embedded ODF (hybrid). As suggested, LO then has Draw. For general PDFs, best quality OCR software ...

Aug 31, 2023 · Basically you can export to PDF from all components of LibreOffice. Normal PDF are opened in Draw. But Draw is not a PDF editor, you can only make small changes. For example, if you save a Writer document as a Hybrid PDF, it is possible to open this PDF again with Writer. FAQ-Draw - How to open PDF file in Draw.

Jul 16, 2020 · I am using the following libreoffice command to convert my pdf files into word (doc) lowriter --headless --infilter='writer_pdf_import' --convert-to doc:"MS Word 2007 XML" sample.pdf. After converting the output document is having each line bordered with a rectangular box. But if I use the same command with MS Word 97 it is working perfectly.
