If your PDF file is user password protected, change step 4 to qpdf --decrypt --password=yourpassword InputFile OutputFile. This won't work for Adobe Digital Editions and may have issues with digitally-signed files.

  4. To remove a password from PDF file on Mac, the simplest way is using Preview app. First open password protected PDF with Preview app. Then input the password to unlock the file. From the File menu, select Export and choose a location to store the PDF. Make sure the Encrypt option is unchecked.

If you want to redo OCR instead of removing it completely, and you don't mind command line, use ocrmypdf: ocrmypdf --redo-ocr --output-type=pdf input.pdf output.pdf.   8. It appears that Word's password protection is not really good, at least until Office 2003, if I read this SU entry correctly. I'm under the impression that Acrobat's PDF password protection should be better (it says 128-bit AES for Acrobat 7 and higher). Is that true?

Jul 31, 2012 · Since the watermark is actually composed of many tiny images, you can remove them with a PDF editor (e.g., Foxit Advanced PDF Editor), simply by selecting them and pressing Delete. Unfortunately, you have to repeat this for every page. A less time-consuming solution would be to remove the watermark programmatically.

  10. Feb 1, 2017 · Go to the install directory, i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroApp\ENU. Create a new subfolder (I used Disabled). Move three files from the ENU folder into the new Disabled folder: AppCenter_R.aapp, Home.aapp and Viewer.aapp. Open a PDF and no more Tool Pane!
