Jan 30, 2011 · This is controlled by a user preference, which cannot be set by the document. You will need to construct the PDF with the background color you want. Exactly how you do this depends on how you're creating the PDF (i.e., the source document).
If the background color comes from Excel then you need to go back to Excel and change it there, and then create a new PDF file. However, that doesn't mean you'll need to create the form from scratch. After you have the new PDF (without the fields, but with the correct design), open the old PDF and use the Replace Pages command.
Dec 4, 2017 · Color scans are creating dark grey background on PDF's, and I need background to be white. I can scan in black and white, and this is a non issue, but I need the images to be the correct color. Is there a setting change that I can make. The user is using Adobe Acrobat 11 Standard.

Oct 15, 2009 · Change printer to Adobe PDF. Go to the properties tab. Find the button to click to change it to Black/white, and click it. Print the document - it will ask for a file name, so give it something different from the original or you will overwrite the original. Open the new document if it doesn't open automatically.
