However I do not understand why I cannot follow the same procedure when logged in to my adobe account. It is quite inconvenient having to log in and out constantly to compress pdfs, as I use my document cloud regularly.

I notice that when I open a 100Mb pdf, when I save it, even without making any changes, the pdf becomes smaller. While this is good, I'm interested in understanding where the compression parameters I can change are. Thanks!

Jan 18, 2022 · Vectors can only be compressed without loss (ZIP) and therefore there is a low limit. So, in InDesign you should replace this vector image by a pixel image before exporting to PDF. And also, you should export the PDF in RGB mode, the file will be smaller and CMYK is useless on the web.

Jan 23, 2017 · If I go into Illustrator and export the PDF using the same kind of compression settings that I put into Adobe Acrobat, the filesize goes from 4.1MB to 1.96MB on Medium compression settings. And you can barely notice a difference visually. If I plug in the exact same compression settings into Adobe Acrobat, it goes from 4.1MB to 3.9MB.
Jul 1, 2020 · To compress multiple files: open a pdf and select Optimize from the Tools menu. click on Reduce file size from the Optimize popup toolbar. in the Reduce File Size popup dialogue box, click Apply to Multiple Files. drag and drop the files in the Arrange documents dialogue box or select Add files.

Aug 30, 2023 · In all my attempts, a ~ 36MB file got reduced by a few KB's only. Surpricingly, in the pdf2go online service, I select Strong compression, choose Grayscale for images and click start and the resulting file size is down to ~ 13MB. I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro Continuous version 2023.003.20284 | 64 bits. Thanks.
