Supported subtitle and closed caption files. Add or get Subtitle Editor access in YouTube Studio. Add multi-language audio. Google Help. For most videos with captions, you can view the full captions transcript, and jump to specific parts of the video. Go to the video description, and click Show transcript. As you watch the video, the transcript will scroll to show you the current caption text. Click any line of caption text to jump to that part of the video.

Sign in to YouTube Studio. From the left menu, select Subtitles . Find the language you’d like to delete, hover over the details under “Subtitles” click Delete . You’ll be asked to confirm that you want to delete the captions. Click DELETE CAPTIONS. Note: Once the automatic captions are deleted for a video, you cannot turn them back on.
From the left-hand menu, select Subtitles. Select the video that you'd like to edit. Click ADD LANGUAGE and select your language. Under 'Subtitles', click ADD. YouTube is constantly improving its speech recognition technology. But automatic captions might misrepresent the spoken content due to mispronunciations, accents, dialects, or background noise. Always review automatic captions and edit any parts that haven't been properly transcribed.
