Jan 9, 2022 · I just search YouTube to WAV and use the first search result that pops up. I have one called Youtube-DLG. You can give it a YouTube link and it will convert it to mp3. My favorite part about it is that it also works with a link to a YouTube playlist, making it easy to convert a lot of videos at one time.

If you save it as WAV you print it to disk "as is" (with the YT compression losses). If you save as mp3 or any other lossy compressed format, you add yet another round of compression to it.

Sep 6, 2019 · upsampling mp3 to wav is not actually upsampling. it's changing the container of the audio data but quality cannot be reproduced from nothing when the source is a lossless file and it's already been removed. It depends on the algorithm used, but if white noise or 0 level samples are added, it's still upsampling.

Apr 7, 2022 · Youtube doesn't use FLAC or WAV. It uses AAC or Opus at embarrassingly low bitrates. When you rip music from Youtube you'll often get given the choice of just those two formats. If you're given any other choice then that website / app is re-encoding the already compressed music making it even worse than it already is.
