It would take some crazy engineering to get a video file to be harmful or it would be a .exe disguised as a video or something (Christmas.Vacation.1989.1080p.BrRip.x264.YIFY.mkv.exe). For whatever source you use, just check the files, remove any .txt or .exe or anything that looks goofy and isn’t subs or .mp4/.mkv/etc and you will be just fine.
Jun 16, 2020 · After YIFY was down, many copycats appeared, with the current one we know that still stands, YTS. However, they have improved their encoding settings substantially, using higher bitrates in their releases, and are even pushing 5.1 audio in their 1080p along with 4K releases (which I'm not covering in this post due to lack of time and the fact they haven't released too many 4K movies yet).
Jun 7, 2020 · YIFY torrents purposely make the files small, because demand for file size is high. That attracts all the low end seeders who have weak internets and limited bandwidth. YIFY deliberately puts 1080p or 720p as the header for the film.
Jul 23, 2021 · YIFY has small file sizes, surprisingly good quality for said file sizes, triple digit seed counts (in my experience atleast) (I recently downloaded a 99 gb Forrest gump file, but the 3 seeders stopped seeding when I hit 98.7gb, so I'm done with massive file sizes) and decent subtitles.

Sep 23, 2020 · yify torrents are shit quality But other than making your eyes bleed, yeah, it's fine. Downloading their stuff from open trackers doesn't give them any user data other than, possibly, your IP address, but it's not like that's private data to begin with. Unless they put malware in the release, but I'm not aware of that ever actually happening
Apr 14, 2022 · One thing you may consider (although perhaps it's even less convenient than dealing with pop-ups) is to use the yts.mx developer`a API to either download your torrent files when needed, or to just download the .torrent files for all 35,000+ films all in one go.
Oct 11, 2012 · YIFY fucking sucks major ASS and the lames who follow YIFY releases are usually noobs who know shit about scene releases and utilize torrents to get flicks. We should fucking hack the YIFY site and get those shitty releases the fuck off the net. Fucking idiots are fucking it up for the common users who use torrents to get shit.
