What I'm saying is that this is still just streaming audio from YouTube rather than YouTube Music. For people who have YouTube Premium this isn't a viable front-end alternative as you will always be listening to music off YouTube rather than YouTube Music. The quality is better on YouTube Music compared to YouTube itself.
Sep 12, 2022 · It pulls from Youtube Music so it's not going to sound as good as the FLAC files you play locally with Poweramp, but I think most people will find the price (free), selection, ease of use, and safety from shady apps all they need to hear music on their phone.
Sep 22, 2022 · True, and the fact that I doesn't have android auto, (yet, it's a work in progress) is the only thing that keeps spotify as my online music application. I strongly believe that youtube music has much bigger selection than spotify (namely every music and every remix in existence!).

But for Vimusic : certainlly one of my fav.foss apps , i love it's UI (new update came just a few days back). You can play cached songs , audio of video songs and support aunroid auto ! (very few foss apps supoorts AA).
Oct 21, 2023 · Spotify has made basic functionalities premium like you can't play previous song, can't play/start from any specific part of the song, can't play in order, can't play in shuffle instead there is only smart shuffle option which plays any random song outside your Playlist in your Playlist etc.

HarmonyMusic is also great, it has both vertical layout similar to Vi/RiMusic and normal navigation like Innertune and SimpMusic. I don't use it because Flutter apps tend to run badly on my device. Now the only feature missing that I'd really like to have is being able to import a Spotify playlist in one of those apps.
Feb 2, 2023 · The last I heard, the dev was working on a new music streaming app and discontinued working on vimusic. It is a great app and it was working fine until today, the menu stopped loading and nothing in the app works. I tried clearing cache, app data and even reinstalling but nothing worked. Is this just happening to me or for you as well?
