The RP explanation of the rating is that it is the best rating ‘adjusted for today’s conditions and the horse’s potential for improvement’. Ratings on the web site up to 7pm the evening before the race are just ‘best rating’. Rob.

Topspeed generally lags behind RPR because not all races are run at a true pace, so that while every race is assessed for RPR, only a fraction of races produce worthwhile speed ratings.

In February 2018 the price was £260. A week or so ago I renewed at £299. Subsequently I have been informed that in February 2020 it will set me back £349!

  7. 43 of the horses were even money to 2/1 at s.p and 26 won , a strike rate of 60%. leaving 51 horses that were 9/4 upwards of which 9 won a strike rate of 17.6% which does bring the overall strike rate down alot . of the 73 horses that had a s.p of 2/1 or under 47 won giving a strike rate of 64%. so you can see the figures so far are good for ...

Let’s hope the printed edition doesn’t go the way of the Evening Standard anytime soon as sad to see only a half dozen copies in a local supermarket this morning on Derby day. 30 years ago there would probably have been 25-30 I imagine. I presume it’s only the Irish edition that is recording the 1st of June as a Friday!

  9. dont get me wrong i love the racing post but their standard times are just too standard. If you want to getinto standard times you need to make a whole set of figs on your own only to realise what little use figs are on the turf and uk in general. However whilst building my figures i understood how figs are achieved.

  10. pick a lay and set the price at 1.01 and the backers stake at £2.00. this will come up as unmatched. then add 50p to the backers stake and hit submit. then delete the £2.00 and it will leave the backers stake at 50p. then change the price to the original lay price.
