Sep 18, 2015 · OpenLearn specifically has a huge range of material, much of which is taken from discontinued (and some current) Open University courses. These range from basic introductory courses on things like arithmetic or using calculators to 100 hour extracts from masters degree level modules.
No, OpenLearn simply provides the material. If you want to get a qualification then it's likely you'll get some funding for doing it, but the next start date for courses is September/October so you won't be able to do it over summer.
Hi,I'm a GCSE student, and I have target grades of almost all 9s looking to attend a good uni in a couple of years.I'm looking for something productive to do during the extended summer break, and I heard about the free OpenLearn (@ Open Univercity) short courses (usually around 25 hours of work).Is this the sort of thing worth doing to bolster personal statements when I come to writing some for Uni?Thanks!

I'm currently about to start my second 60 credit module with the OU, I have spoken to local universities to me (mainly USW and Cardiff Met) and they have said they would be happy to accept the 120 credits in lieu of A levels, so I am hopng to start at a brick uni for Social work in Sept 2020!
