NPCIL is responsible for design, construction, commissioning and operation of nuclear power reactors. NPCIL is a MoU signing, profit making and dividend paying company with the highest level of credit rating (AAA rating by CRISIL and CARE). NPCIL is presently operating 24 commercial nuclear power reactors with an installed capacity of 8180 MW.
At present, NPCIL operates 24 nuclear power reactors (including Rajasthan Atomic Power Station Unit-1, 100 MW PHWR, owned by DAE and managed by NPCIL, which is under long shutdown) with an installed capacity of 8180 MW.
The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is an Indian public sector undertaking based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is wholly owned by the Government of India and is responsible for the generation of electricity from nuclear power. NPCIL is administered by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
