Navarasa. The Rasas are the mainstay of Performing Art, which tries to present various phases of human life. The state of rasa is established due to bhava which is the cause of emotion. Every rasa corresponds to a particular bhava and is about human state of mind.
It explains that Navarasa refers to the nine emotions that can be expressed and experienced through dance performance. The nine rasas are shringar, hasya, karuna, raudra, veera, bhayanaka, bibhatsa, adbhuta, and shanta.
Navarasa Kauthwam is a novel concept and Bharatanatyam choreography by Dr.Rajashree Warrier. The 'Navarasa' are nine emotions or flavors evoked by this piece, which the maestro divined based on fables in the Mahabharata.
