May 13, 2021 · Thanks a lot! I was attempting to set up LaTeX workshop with MiKTeX and was having some trouble. I ended up downloading something called strawberry perl and I also downloaded latexmk using the MiKTeX console. Now it works well though. Do you know if there is any way to stop the notifications you get from the extension when your typing something?

Feb 2, 2019 · It appears that the MiKTeX console, for whatever ridiculous reason, does not simply check for other instances of the miktex-console.exe process, and instead generates this "miktex-console.lock" file when launched. Deleting the offending file whenever it is created lets you run as many MiKTeX console instances as you like.
Run pdflatex ex.tex to produce a pdf file from the tex file directly. Alternatively, after obtaining the dvi file from latex ex.tex, run dvips -P pdf ex.dvi followed by ps2pdf ex.ps to produce a ps file and then a pdf file, or dvipdfm ex.dvi to produce a pdf file.
Jun 19, 2024 · If you install Miktex 24.1 (Windows) and call up "Check for updates" and "Update now" via the console, the update runs until approx. 42% then the process starts to corrupt the entire installation. After termination of the frozen console (after hours), none of the Miktex programs work any more.

Feb 9, 2022 · Presumably MiKTeX does not setup this special folder and thus the user will have to manually reconfigure the editor/system to suit where MikTeX placed the binaries. Given how easy it is to install MacTeX, I see no reason to install MikTeX on a Mac. [1]: MacTeX sets up a special folder which then in turn points to the MacTeX version in use.
you can visit the MikTeX homepage, and down portable or DVD from browsering tab. after downloading the portable,you can unzip it to folder such as MikTeX, then launch "miktex-portable.cmd" which would always be in the folder MikTeX, right click on the icon in the windows tray, selecting "MikTeX package manager", the so-called MPM. selecting "edit" then "select installable package" and right click the selections, you will see a plus symbol which means installing selecting packages.
