Mar 13, 2023 · Hybrid Exchange with CMT. In our new hybrid exchange with CMT enabled I can email from exchange online to an external recipient. The transport rule that tags subjects from email “outside the organization” with “ [EXTERNAL]” is now applying it to all messages from EXO to external recipients. EXO to internal is not tagging as expected.

Currently, we route our emails through an SMTP provider (being smtp2go.com) via a smarthost, which has been fantastic to date. We want to continue using them but I'm struggling to find how to set this up within Office 365.
