Jun 23, 2017 · The reason for that is that there’s no separate “Calc”, “Writer” or any other module in LibreOffice. Actually, there is one monolithic application (soffice) that uses module libraries and shows e.g. Calc UI and functions to user; and there is a little shortcut program (calc.exe) that only purpose is to start soffice with required parameters to begin right with required module loaded.
Feb 10, 2020 · Here’s what I’m doing and the answers to your questions. I create a Calc spreadsheet in LibreOffice and save it on a local laptop drive (Windows 10) as an Excel File. I attach the file to an email to myself (thru AOL). When I receive the file in AOL, I click and open it. It shows up on the screen as a preview file. Not suitable for editing etc.
Jan 24, 2020 · This used to work. I download a tab-delimited text file of a spreadsheet from a website and the site happens to give it a .txt extension. I’ve been doing this for years with no problems, right-click in File Explorer, “Open with” and select LibreOffice Calc. However after I did a clean re-install of Windows 10 (1903) and installed the latest version 6.3.4.2 of LibreOffice, I can no longer open these .txt files into LibreOffice Calc from the File Explorer right-click “Open with ...
May 24, 2015 · I just installed LibreOffice version 4.4 on Windows 10 and it works fine. Make sure you download the product from the LibreOffice.org web site. I downloaded an older version of LibreOffice from the web and it failed to install indicating that the application is a 16 bit app and it is not supported. Gene_50 August 4, 2015, 2:21am #5.

EDIT Ubuntu comes with Libreoffice by default so you’ll already have Calc. Try to make sure that your windows version and your Ubuntu version have the same Libreoffice version though. Sep 29, 2021 · The computer is probably set to only get apps from the Microsoft app store. Click start menu - Settings - Apps - Apps & Features under Choose where to get apps from select anywhere.
