Apr 29, 2015 · Step 3: When the process in done, Reboot the system. and when it boots up, click on UneteBooting, wait for it to say Press ESC etc, quickly press ESC and choose Kali Live USB Security Persistent, and wait for it to boot into the Desktop. Step 4: Click on Applications at the Top, and goto System Tools - Install Kali Linux.
Make sure that the persistence.conf file is owned by root, and that the partition is named persistence. I had this problem after making a Live USB not as root (though could have also been this time I made it as non-encrypted). For some reason it did everything fine other then save the persistence.conf file.

Sep 16, 2015 · When it gets to the network hardware detection i get this error: "Some of your hardware needs non-free firmware files to operate. The firmware can be downloaded from removable media, such as a USB stick or floppy. The missing firmware files are: rt2870.bin. If you have such media available now, insert it, and continue."

Mar 21, 2014 · Posts. 2. first off, make sure the device is enabled in vmware. if it is, in a terminal check lsusb command to see if it shows up. if it does then type rfkill list to see if its blocked. if its blocked, type rfkill unblock wifi. then check ifconfig to see if it shows.

Nov 19, 2013 · the addition of sudo didnt do anything here, by default you are running as root in kali. those are 2 separate commands.
