Government Medical College, Ernakulam (GMCE) is one among the premier Medical Instutions in the Kerala State. The Medical College is later known as Cochin Medical College, Cochin was governed by the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education established by the Government of Kerala.
The College meets all the requirements of the MCI for training medical interns and has got complete access to all the clinical and super specialty departments of the Medical College Hospital. The hospital is equipped with 700 beds.

Courses – Welcome to Government Medical College, Ernakulam. Courses. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Course: This is a 4 1/2 year course followed by 1 year internship. The number of students in each fresh batch is 100.
It offers outpatient, inpatient and out of call services. It actively provides liasion input to all inpatient departments. Specialist Child and Adolescent and De- Addiction Services are also provided. The faculties are well trained in all modalities of Psychiatric and Psychological therapies.
Government Medical College Ernakulam (GMCEKM) campus and Hospital sprawls over 60 acres of picturesque landscape at Kalamassery in the Ernakulam(Cochin) district of Kerala, only 4km away from the NH47.
There are separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, with spacious rooms three, double and single bedded. Basic furniture is provided in the rooms. They also have common rooms for recreation facilities, reading rooms and TV room. Round the clock security is provided to all the hostels.
