Gargaon College established Gandhian Studies Centre in 2010. Initially, the Centre was sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under twelfth plan. The main objective of the centre is to provide a platform for discussion of Gandhian philosophy and its relevance in the present-day context.
The Gargaon College Central Library is housed in a state-of-the-art building and is situated at Gargaon - a place of historical and tourist importance which is at a distance of 14 km east of Sivasagar town. It remains open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on all week days. Students with College Library Card are allowed to borrow books from the library.

The Department of Economics was established in the year 1959. The Department offers B. A., B.Sc. (Major & Non Major) courses. The department has a strength of 5 experienced faculty members (members with Ph.D.: 3, M. Phil: 3, pursuing Ph.D.: 1).
