May 12, 2020 · In Ubuntu 20.04 and later running sudo apt upgrade not only upgrades the versions of the proprietary graphics drivers that were installed by sudo ubuntu-drivers install. Sometimes sudo apt upgrade even upgrades the proprietary graphics driver packages to more recent packages, in which case sudo apt autoremove removes the older packages which were replaced by the newer ones.
Aug 21, 2012 · @PabloBianchi The youtube-dl -U command doesn't always work properly in Ubuntu, and instead of updating youtube-dl it does nothing. Ubuntu users who encounter this problem can solve it by installing the youtube-dl snap package which is updated automatically usually to the latest version or if not to a recent version of youtube-dl.
May 11, 2012 · I want to download Ubuntu 12.04, but it seems to take a long time, i.e. 1 day via Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. Can you suggest an alternative way to download it faster (e.g. 2 hours)??
Apr 9, 2023 · sudo apt-get install --download-only * That should of done it. An example is osdisk.com. It had 10 DVDs with the program deb files on it that gets copied in to the cache from the DVDs, ready for possibly installing one day or not. Download the entire Ubuntu Software center into apt cache for offline use
Jun 1, 2018 · Installing Ubuntu Desktop for arm64 using Ubuntu Server ISO. At the end of the installation, you will have Ubuntu Server installed without any GUI. To install Ubuntu Desktop, log in and run: $ sudo apt update $ sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop $ sudo reboot
8GB is not a small size. You can use Ubuntu with a 8GB hard disk. But If you are still looking for a more lightweight Ubuntu based distro check this out. I am not sure which ones among them are still active but I suggest those personally. Lubuntu which runs with LXDE desktop. Bodhi Linux which runs with Enlightenment window manager.
Of course the correct installation is from official packages like above (download Instant Client Downloads), but you can get a full working sqlplus just by copying these files (you can found it in any computer with oracle client installed), and some msb are optitional:
