Apr 26, 2012 · I wanted download MinGW C and C++ gnu compiler from Sourceforge using mingw-get-inst-20120421.exe. It gives me an option to download pre-packaged repository or latest one. When I am behind Kaspersky AV firewall latest one fails. Pre- one fails in any case. In any case they don't install gcc.exe at all. This is the image of my mingw/bin directory:

Jul 15, 2016 · I ran mingw-w64-install.exe on my (online) laptop. There are four files in the top level directory from the install that aren't in the .7z file: uninstall.exe, uninstall.ini, mingw-w64, and mingw-w64.bat. mingw-w64 is a shortcut. mingw-w64.bat adds the bin directory to the PATH and opens a cmd window.
Nov 25, 2016 · It has both the mingw and cygwin fork package. To install the MinGW-w64 toolchain (reference): Open the MSYS2 shell from the start menu. Run pacman -Sy pacman to update the package database. Reopen the shell, and run pacman -Syu to update the package database and core system packages.
If you're using Windows 10, it is built into the Linux subsystem feature. Just launch a Bash prompt (press the Windows key, then type bash and choose "Bash on Ubuntu on Windows"), cd to the directory you want to make and type make. FWIW, the Windows drives are found in /mnt, e.g. C:\ drive is /mnt/c in Bash.

Hint: if you did not find gdb installed, simply open the cygwin or mingw package installer and make sure you already check gdb.

This will create a folder called bin.ntx86 or bin.ntx86_64 depending on your architecture.
Apr 9, 2017 · MinGW does not come with Python. (At least the official MinGW.org distribution does not; there are other distributions which might.) That said, MinGW is primarily a compiler toolchain for C and C++ (and optionally some other languages like Ada or Fortran, but Python isn't one of them).
