It's just another grading system for your degree, just up the scale a little. Our teachers have always explained in like this: First-Class Honours (First or 1st) = Grade A**. Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1) = Grade A*. Lower Second-Class Honours (2:2) = Grade A. Third-Class Honours (Third or 3rd) = Grade B. Ordinary degree (Pass) = Grade C.

I'm a first year and all results so far have been by A-number, however I doubt any results are published on the loughborough "website".
Degree Results!! Thought I would make this thread for all of you's getting your degree results in the next few weeks. I got mine today and I'm very happy with my 2:2. Jun 24, 2017 · Usually, this breakdown will be provided as a formal report called a degree transcript, and it may well include the detailed marks for each piece of assessed work. How modules are weighted and the precise borderlines between classes will vary between institutions, but it sounds as if your grandson may have averaged (say) 69.2%, when the lower boundary for a First might have been 70%.
But thanks for just repeating the stem of my question, sick reply. I'd normally say if you are averaging 68+ you could probably say that you are predicted a first, 58-68 a 2.1, and anything below that a 2.2. If you scraped 40%, its going a bit far to say that you are expecting to get a 2.1 or a 1st. It is like predicted grade.
MEng degree results. A. the_doctor46. Hi everyone, today I received the degree classification for my MEng degree in Mechanical Engineering. I averaged a 67.2%, and have therefore been awarded a 2:1 degree. I'm not sure why, but I feel like I am disappointed with this result.
