Dalai Lama (UK: / ˈ d æ l aɪ ˈ l ɑː m ə /, US: / ˈ d ɑː l aɪ /; [1] [2] Tibetan: ཏཱ་ལའི་བླ་མ་, Wylie: Tā la'i bla ma [táːlɛː láma]) is a title given by Altan Khan, the first Shunyi King of Ming China.
