Dec 18, 2007 · Posted December 18, 2007. We had a Code Alpha on our Royal Princess cruise in November. We heard later that the gentleman had passed away. It happens more frequently than you realize. As the others have said, a Code Alpha is a medical emergency but I also think it means an "immediate" medical emergency.
Apr 18, 2009 · December 30, 2007. #1. Posted April 18, 2009. On our cruise on the Sky last weekend, at 1:00 in the morning an announcement came on inside the rooms saying Code Alpha, and announcing a room number. Then a minute later said Cancel Code Alpha.
Apr 10, 2010 · I was on a European cruise last fall and they did a code alpha and I asked one of the crew members what happened the next day. They said that a man had a heart attack and died, so it makes sense that it would be a medical emergency.

Mar 4, 2013 · One little detail, the wording is very specific. 'Code Alpha' is an alert. Calls for Alpha situation or Alpha group are not. It's always a 2 to 3 word combination, beginning with a standard keyword, followed by an assembly location for the summoned unit. I.E. Code Alpha, Stateroom Emerald 999, or Code Bravo, Main Galley, etc.
Dec 19, 2018 · Sometimes the Alpha code will have a number after it - cabin number location or a description: Brightstar (cabin) xxxxx. Charlie - Delta - Oscar all have a specific coded meaning. Caution after you understand the codes DO NOT BECOME AN AMBULANCE CHASER going to that specific cabin -. or the scene of the coded announcement !

I don't know if you'd hear this on a ship, but "Code Adam" is apparently universal code for "missing or abducted child" and if heard in a store on land, it means they seal the doors until they determine if the child is still in the store or not.
Feb 13, 2018 · The ship also stopped and we then saw a tender going ashore at the end of Milford Sound. We assumed they were evacuating someone. I knew Code Alpha was a medical emergency, but it was definitely Code Delta that was called prior to the evacuation by tender. Sent from my iPhone using Forums.
Jan 27, 2014 · Just read a review posted this week about the Celebration where the above code was announced over the tannoy at 1 20 am..I'm sure that one of our illustrious contributors can enlighten me as to the meaning of this before we go on the 31st of this month.Apparently it was only cabins near the louds...
